R. Irene Hostetler, 81, of Dover, died peacefully Thursday, February 16, 2006 in the Hennis Care Centre, Dover.
She was born February 26, 1924 in Mineral City, the daughter of the late William E. & Margaret McDonald Baker.
Over the years, Irene had been active with the Dover Eagles Auxiliary, where she served as past president and was secretary for 16 years, and the Dover VFW Auxiliary.
Irene was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was deeply saddened by the loss of her husband, Harry E. Hostetler who died February 7, 2005.
Surviving family members include: two daughters, Harriet Hidey of the home, and Sandra K. Espenschied of Dover; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores Snyder, two sisters and three brothers.
Rev. Glen Shedlock will officiate a service that celebrates Irene�(TM)s life on Monday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m. in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial, a reception for family and friends will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8pm.
