Ray A. Thompson, age 66, of Dover, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, in Union Hospital.
Born February 27, 1952, in Dover, he was a son of the late Raymond and Emilia Tedesco Thompson. Ray graduated from Dover High School in 1970, and owned his own lawnmower shop in Dover. He was a long-time employee of Sugardale (Fresh Mark) in Canton, from which he retired.
Ray was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover, and was devoted to his family. He especially enjoyed automobiles, and one of his favorite pastimes was auto racing.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Barcroft Thompson, whom he married on September 23, 1978; his son, R. Anthony “Tony” (Kistine Patterson) Thompson Jr.; his daughter, Trisha Thompson; his grandchildren, Jacob and Jade; his siblings, Diana Andreozzi, Philip (Susan), Gino (Carole) and Jim Thompson; and his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 6 - 8 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. There will be a Christian wake service Thursday at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Church. Those planning to attend the Mass are asked to go directly to the church Friday afternoon.
