Raymond G. “Ray” Shultz, 87, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 and his wife, Margaret A. Shultz, 87, died on August 6, 2009 in Park Village in Dover, where they had an apartment.

Ray was born on March 22, 1922 in Bowerston, Ohio. He was the son of the late Beatty and Mary Gatchell Shultz. He is also preceded in death by two brothers; Doyle and Brice Shultz and his sister; Florence Shultz.

Ray graduated from Bowerston High School in 1940. He later joined the Coast Guard and served our country during WWII. He was a retired electrician at Republic Steel in Canton.

Margaret was born on September 12, 1921 in Dover. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Matchett Shumaker. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Howard G. Brannen in June of 1954; two brothers, William and James Shumaker; and her sister, Betty Miller.

Margaret graduated from Dover High School in 1939. She retired from Reeves Steel in Dover, where she worked in the office.

Ray and Margaret were married on October 31, 1959, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover. Ray and Margaret spent many Friday evenings eating dinner and dancing at the Dover VFW, where they were both members.

They will be missed by their two sons; Jack Brannen, of Canton, and Tim (Deb) Brannen of Charlotte, NC; their grandson, Chris Brannen, of NC, and Ray�(TM)s two brothers; Kenneth (Freda) Shultz of Canton and Herman (Erma) Shultz of Dover.

In honoring both Raymond�(TM)s and Margaret�(TM)s wishes, they will be cremated through the care of Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A private family graveside service will take place on Monday in Dover Burial Park with Dr.William C. Haggis officiating. The Dover VFW will conduct a military graveside service.
