Rebecca Mitchell

Rebecca Mitchell, 38, of Strasburg died at her mother's home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Born in Canton on August 6, 1977 she was the daughter of Thomas and Shari (Pulley) Dayton. She graduated from Strasburg High School and attended Buckeye Career Center. On October 6, 2001, she married the love of her life, Devlin Mitchell.

She loved attending bible study groups at Cross Caf. She attended the Montage Team Ministry in Massillon and also attended Heavens Well Ministry in Dover. Rebecca never met a stranger and she lived every day of her life like it was her last.

In addition to her parents and Devlin, she will be sadly missed by her four children; Chastaine Mitchell of Midvale, Richard (Kendra) Dayton of Strasburg, CG Dayton (companion, Christina Helms) of New Philadelphia, Tessa Mitchell of Midvale; her sister, Mandy (Charles) Porter of Strasburg, her grandmother, Wyema (Oscar) Smart of New Philadelphia; 3 grandchildren, Landon Dayton, Easton Shetler and Ellie; nieces, Vidalia and Wyema Porter of Strasburg; along with many great true friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, CG Pulley; and paternal grandparents, Clyde and Gladys Dayton; along with her uncle, Gary Pulley.

A celebration of Rebecca's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00am with Pastor Brett Hughes officiating. Following the service, cremation will take place. A meal will be served at St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4-7pm.
