Rev. W. Stanley Winters

Rev. W. Stanley Winters, 71, of Newcomerstown and formerly of Dover died Thursday, February 20, 2014 in the Riverside Manor at Newcomerstown.

Born September 10, 1942 in Dover he was a son of the late William and Elsie Hadorn Winters. Stan was also preceded in death by a son, Kenton Winters; brothers, Thomas and Phillip Winters and his sister, Anne Winters.

Stan had retired as a minister with the United Methodist Church after 26 years and had also been a minister with the Wesleyan Church. In his spare time, Stan enjoyed interior decorating and entertaining with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Suzanne (Mark) Tomasi of Springfield and Steven Winters of Delaware; brother, Rev. Charles (Keet) Winters of Mississippi and his former wife Rev. Jeannie Winters of Chesterville.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 11:00 am in the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown with Rev. Larry Hukill and Rev. Jim Humphrey officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held in the church social hall. Friends can call at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
