Rex F. Evans

Rex F. Evans, 71, of New Philadelphia passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Born January 20, 1951 in Massillon he was a son of Norma Jean Foster Evans of Massillon and the late Joseph Evans. In addition to his father, Rex was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph P. Evans II; and brother, Patrick Evans.

Rex proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1975, and retired in 2012 from Stark Truss. He loved technology and was very adept at building and fixing computers, he also was a movie buff.

In addition to his mother, Rex is also survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Reynolds Evans whom he married on June 30, 2001; children, Kimberly (Duane) Perry of North Lawrence, Travis Evans of Massillon; and his granddaughter, Taylor Ann Perry.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Rex’s life will be held on Saturday, January 29th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home. The family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
