Richard A. McCoy, age 78, of Sherrodsville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in his home.
Born November 19, 1938, in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Robert A. and Dorothy E. Cox McCoy. Richard was a devoted family man. Whenever possible, he involved his sons in his activities, and they were taught from the get-go to work hard and respect others. He did his best to set them in the right direction.

(Donna) McCoy of Dover; his grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Flynn and Brandon McCoy; his great-grandson, Sam Flynn; his brother, Robert (Pam) McCoy; his half-sister, Debbie (Terry) Cook; his half-brothers, Stan (Bonnie) and Steve (Susan) Zimmerman; his step-sister, Leonia Smith; his step-brother, Skip (Sara) Zimmerman; and his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his step-brothers, Don and Gerald Zimmerman.
