Richard A. Daley, age 73, of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, with his mother at his side.

Born February 14, 1952, in Dover, he was the son of Rose M. (Petitti) Daley of Dover and the late William C. Daley. Richard attended New Philadelphia High School

and was employed for years by the Tuscarawas County Home (Colonial Manor) before it closed. He later worked for New Philadelphia’s Starlight School, New Philadelphia Schools and Sacred Heart Church, also in New Philadelphia. Richard was a quiet simple man who enjoyed the outdoors, particularly gardening and yardwork around his home. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church.

In addition to his mother, Rose, he is survived by his nieces, Wendy, Theresa and Michelle Daley; his great-nieces and great-nephews; his aunt and uncle, Eleanor and Luther Froelich; and several cousins, including Cynthia (Chris) LaVoie and Susan (Tim) Fisher.

Besides his father, Richard was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Patricia Daley; his aunt, May Daley; and his uncle, Anthony Petitti.

Richard will be cremated and a memorial Mass will be held in Sacred Heart Church, the date and time of which will be announced. Burial will be in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover.
