Richard F. "Frank" Gaskill, 83, of Strasburg died Monday, April 30, 2012 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a long battle with lung cancer.
Born March 14, 1929 in Tyro, Kansas he was a son of the late Arch and Anna Hassaberg Gaskill. He was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.
Frank retired from Universal Field Services in Oklahoma where his job was buying land for the pipeline. He proudly served his country with the US Air Force and was a member of the Masonic Order in Bolivar and Oklahoma. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center.
Frank is survived by his wife, Leona Marks Gaskill whom he married on March 12, 2001; son, Aaron Gaskill of Oklahoma; step children, Barbara (Duane) Stutzman of Dundee, Carol (Mike) King of Dundee, Larry (April) Kennedy of Alabama, Lori (Wes) Starn of Strasburg and Vincent Price of Oklahoma; sister, Louise Woolam of Oklahoma; grandson, Kraig Gaskill, 11 step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg with Rev. Brian Flood officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg.
