Richard was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He was grateful for his many friends whose company he was so very fond of. Richard always wore a smile and often could be heard whistling a cheery tune.

His family includes his wife, Winnie Rowland Rausch, whom he married on August 10, 1975; his daughters, Traci Rausch of New Philadelphia, Jessi (Troy) Shumaker of Dover, and Darcy Neff of Beach City; his grandchildren, Paeton Rausch, Rylie and Jade Shumaker, and Misty and Joseph Neff; his six great-grandchildren; his sister, Cindy Milarcik; his sister-in-law, Karen (Bob) Uda; his brother-in-law, Rick Rowland; his many nieces and nephews, including Laura Milarcik, with whom he was very close; and his cat, Dixie May.
