Richard A. "Rich" Jones, 72, of Dover, passed away on May 3, 2024, with his wife, Susan (Thiebaud) Jones, by his side. Rich was born on February 14, 1952, in Muncie, Indiana to his loving parents Alva Jones and Rebecca (Discol) Jones.
Throughout his life, Rich made a lasting impact on those around him through his dedicated career and vibrant personality. His commitment shone brightly during his time at Ohio State University, where he diligently oversaw the parking lots and operations for many years. Even after retiring from the university, Rich continued to serve his community by dedicating himself to working for Licking County for several more years.
Rich was known for his ornery yet endearing nature. He had a remarkable talent for storytelling and enjoyed nothing more than bringing smiles to the faces of others through his jokes and humor. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rich found joy in pursuing his hobbies of photography and working with computers. His creative spirit knew no bounds.
In addition to leaving behind a legacy of hard work and laughter, Rich leaves behind a cherished memory in the hearts of his surviving family and friends which include is wife, Susan of Dover; his nephew and niece, Keith and Diane Thiebaud; and his cousins, Buni and John Maurer, and Pat and John Moore.
As we mourn the loss of Rich Jones, let us remember him not with sorrow but with gratitude for the laughter he shared and the lives he touched. May his memory continue to bring warmth to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
