Richard L. Dodd

Richard "Whitey" L. Dodd, 73, of Strasburg passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2015 at his home.

Born on December 29, 1941 in Canton, he was the son of the late Roy and Dorothy (Griffith) Dodd. He retired from Elum Music following 30 years of service. He later worked for Stark Truss for 12 years.

Whitey enjoyed being outside in the summer and was known for his beautiful flower beds. He had a passion for cars and along with his good friend Brad Black always spent winters doing frame off restorations on American cars. He was an animal lover and cherished his dogs; Zadeigh, Rosie, Paco, and his cat, Stinky Butt.

Whitey will be missed by his wife; Terri (Baker) Dodd; four children, Richard (Jodie) Gardner of West Virginia, Barbara Jean Tucker of Georgia, Roy Dodd of Canton, and Johanna Williams of Strasburg; five grandchildren; nephew, Eric Taylor; first wife, Roma Jean Gardner; along with his close friends, Brad Black of Canton, and Dan Radanovich of Richville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. (Kubicka) Dodd.

In honoring Whitey's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. There will be no services or calling hours. Those wishing to send a condolence to the family can do so by visiting the "obituaries & flowers" link on the funeral home's website.
