Richard L. Endres, 66, of Dover, OH passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Richard was a loving brother, uncle and friend, and he would do anything for anyone.
Born December 8, 1951, Richard was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Dover. He earned a degree in floriculture from The Ohio State University, Wooster in 1974, and worked at the family business, Endres Floral Company, for 27 years before starting his own company, Floral Packaging, in 1990. To have known Richard was to have loved him. He was a kind soul, and he never had a negative word to say about anything or anyone. Whether he was delivering flowers to someone who just needed a smile or helping his nieces move, Richard was there for his friends and family at the drop-of-a-hat. He inherited his impeccable work ethic from his late father, Eugene, and as a result, he was a perfectionist who was committed to giving his customers the very best. He paid attention to every last detail, and as a result, people knew that Richard was not working to live, but rather living to give back to others through his work. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, Richard was giving back to his community as a member of the New Philadelphia Jaycees and the Dover Lions Club.
Richard is survived by his sisters, Carole (Tony) Cenci and Barbara “Susie” Lang of Dover; brothers, Tom and Ted Endres of Dover; sister-in-law Chris (Don) Levy of Louisville, OH; nieces, Amanda Endres of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Melissa (Sean) Felton of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth (Cameron) Krahel of New Philadelphia and Erin Endres of Louisville, OH; nephews, Tom (Caroline) Endres of New Philadelphia, Jason (Marcelle) Endres of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and Seth Endres of New Philadelphia; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene V. Endres and Jane L. (Slasor) Endres; brother, Fred Endres; brother-in-law, Bob Lang; and sister-in-law, Cindy Endres.
