Richard M. "Dick" Gummere

Richard M. “Dick” Gummere, 83, of Dover passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 in the Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar following complications from a stroke.

Born June 28, 1937 in Canton he was a son of the late Robert and Cleoa Pyle Gummere.

Dick was a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent, and treasurer at several different school districts throughout the area.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Osburn Gummere whom he married on August 31, 1963; children, Jay (Sally) Gummere of Granville, Trevor (Beth) Gummere of Aurora; siblings, Joan Hayward of Texas, Bob Gummere of Hilton Head; grandchildren, Jordan, Megan, Hogan, Ryan Gummere and Evelyn Keefer.
