Richard (Rick) H. Froman Iii

Richard H. “Rick” Froman III, 49, of Sugarcreek, Ohio died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Union Hospital following a sudden illness.

Rick was a former employee of Sugarcreek Industries.

Born October 26, 1952 in Dover, he was the son of Marian Roush Froman Angelo and Pete Angelo of Strasburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard H. Froman Jr.

Rick was a member of the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church where he was a former head trustee and formerly served on the administrative council of the church. He was also a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, former baseball coach in the Sugarcreek Little League and Treasurer of the Garaway Athletic Booster Club. Rick was also a former basketball official and baseball umpire. He was a 1971 graduate of Strasburg High School and a 1975 graduate of the University of Akron.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Rick is survived by his wife Connie Erb Froman with whom he would have celebrated 26 years of marriage on Nov. 27. He is also survived by his son, Koby, a student at the Garaway Middle School. Four sisters, Sally (Doug) Hensel of Strasburg, Connie (Jim) Schering of Canton, Paula (Mike) Vinciguerra of Uniontown, and Amy (Jerry) Gladney of Perrysburg; father in law, Vaughn Erb of Beach City; three brothers in law, Carl (Deb) Erb and Craig (Kathy) Erb both of Brewster and Dan (Cheryl) Erb of Baytown, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 20, 2002 at 11 am in the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church with Pastor Dairel Kaiser officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-6 pm and Monday at the church from 10-11 am.
