Richard A. “Tank” Taylor, 54, of Dover died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in Union Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Born December 30, 1952 in Dover, he was the son of the late Richard Taylor and Evelyn Overton Taylor Polilli.
Tank was a truck driver for Rees Cast Stone/Stocker Concrete in Dover for thirty six years.
He was an avid fisherman and member of the Tuscarawas County Bassmasters and enjoyed participating in many fishing tournaments. He also enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a 1971 graduate of Dover High School where he was an outstanding athlete having played both football and baseball. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover.
On August 4, 1973, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Lehman and would have celebrated 34 years of marriage this year. He is also survived by his son, Keith (Valerie) Taylor of Dover and his daughter, Steffanie Taylor of Dover; one granddaughter, Brook and his brother, Tom Taylor of Dover.
A funeral service celebrating Tank�(TM)s life will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Larry Black officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8pm.
