Robert A. Ault

Robert A. "Bob" Ault, age 81, of Dover, died Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Union Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born June 10, 1933, in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Leighton and Catherine (Weaver) Ault. Bob graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1952, and, shortly thereafter, entered the service of his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge, Bob returned to Tuscarawas County and married the former Nettie L. Anderson in Mt. Carmel United Brethren Church near Tippecanoe. He worked for the Evans Sewer Pipe Company and Marlite before being employed by the City of Dover, from which he retired.

Bob loved to travel with his family, especially when it involved going to the beach, camping and use of his and Nettie's motorhome. He also enjoyed fixing things and working with wood and metal to fabricate small items for use around the family home.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nettie; his daughter, Stephanie L. Burgess (Robert); his grandsons, Jeffrey P. Burgess of Tampa, and Matthew W. Burgess of Dover; his sisters, Kitty Delano (Douglas) of Scarborough, Maine, Neidra Whiting (Fred) of Cornish, Maine, and Rhonda Whitney (Matthew) of Chesapeake, Virginia; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Gerald Frank Sr. of New Philadelphia; and his many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Leighton Ault.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Monday, April 27, 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:30, officiated by Rev. Jim Humphrey of New Philadelphia's First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia.
