Robert A. Stover

Robert A. Stover, 78, of Dover, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

Born November 26, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles R. & Wilma Sligar Stover.

After 22 years of service, he retired from Betz-Dearborn at New Philadelphia where he was Plant Manager.

Robert had a great personality and made friends easily. He was always comfortable drumming up a conversation with someone new.

He was a member of New Philadelphia's First Christian Church, and had been active with Dover Kiwanis, and Tuscarawas Masonic Lodge #59, F & A.M. at Dover. Robert proudly served our country in Navy during the Korean conflict. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed, for many years, participating in the Atwood Golf League with his wife, Marjorie E. Giles Stover. Marjorie preceded him in death on March 14, 1998.

Surviving is his loving daughter, Ellen M. (Wes) McMillen of Stone Creek.

Along with his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

A funeral service celebrating Robert's life will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment, complete with military honors, will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.
