Robert "Bob" F. Bevan

Robert F. "Bob" Bevan, 76 of New Philadelphia passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia.

Born on January 31, 1938 in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William H. and Dorothy P. Hager Bevan. In addition to his parents, he also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Bevan, and one grandchild.

Bob married the love of his life, Betty L. Moore on July 5, 1998. Bob was employed at Miracle Adhesive in New Philadelphia for 37 years and then retired from Sparta Ceramics. He also worked for the Times Reporter.

Bob was a member of the New Philadelphia VFW, and the Dover Eagles and Moose. He was an avid bowler and was proud of the fact that he bowled a perfect game in 2002.

He will be sadly missed by his children; Robin (Mark) Handy of Georgia, Richard (Melissa) Bevan of Strasburg, Denis (Sherri) Bevan of Strasburg, Jeff Bevan of New Philadelphia, Karen (Bill) Marsden of Dennison, Pam (Brian) Johnson of Strasburg, Kathy (Chip) Kohser of Pennsylvania, Kenneth (Tammy) Lorenz of Texas; three brothers, Paul Bevan of Dover, Bill Bevan of New Philadelphia, Butch "Ron" (Ginny) Bevan of New Philadelphia; three sisters, Cheri (Joe) Conidi of Dover, Pat Powell of Dover, Jill Clark of Canton; along with 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and two great grandbabies on the way. He also leaves behind his canine companions, Rocky and Rosie.

A private family graveside service will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. There will be no public calling hours or service. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia are handling the arrangements.
