Robert E. Allison, 89, passed from this life on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2007, unexpectedly, in St. James City, FL, where he had resided the past thirty years.
Born February 7, 1918, in Waterford, OH, Rob was a son of the late Lester Dudley and Alta Wallace Allison. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of the Second World War, and retired from the Timken Roller Bearing Co., Canton, after thirty years of service.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Ruth Duncan Allison; two daughters, Jackie (Tom) Zimmerman and Joanne Snyder; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Stanley Allison, and a sister, Lois Weber.
A funeral was held in Florida earlier this week. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 232 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg, on Monday, Dec. 3, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with a brief service beginning at 11:30 officiated by Pastor Steven Woyen of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strasburg. Burial will be in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg.
