Robert E. ''Bob'' Maurer, 76, of Dover, died Wednesday, January 31, 2001 in Union Hospital.
He was employed as a glazier and had worked for the former Tusco Glass before retiring from union work.
Born April 26, 1924 at Dover, he was son of the late Earl and Edna Rigenbach Maurer.
A Marine veteran of World War II, Bob was a sharpshooter stationed in Iwo Jima and Guam and earned the Purple Heart.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Swinderman Maurer whom he wed on June 7, 1946.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother Fred ''Fritz'' Maurer and an infant sister Marjie Lou Maurer.
A private military graveside service will be performed Monday, February 5 in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. There are no public services. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Sunday from 1-4pm.
