Robert Edward Lee, 69, of Strasburg passed away on April 12, 2002 at his home following a sudden illness.
He retired in 1998 from Union Metal Corp. in Canton after 35 years of service.
Born October 10, 1932 in Douglas County, Georgia he was a son of the late Clinton and Inez Couch Lee.
He graduated from Douglas County High School in 1950, and served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic from 1950 to 1961. He was stationed in Tulle, Greenland during the Korean War. He was a member of Steel Workers Local #9094 where he served as president and vice president for several years. He was a family man who enjoyed the company of friends and relatives. He was a “not so lucky” fisherman and an outspoken Democrat. He enjoyed his retirement year�(TM)s flea marketing and traveling with his wife.
Robert is survived, and much loved, by his wife Marjorie Charnock Lee with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 3, 2002.
He is also survived by four daughters: Patty (Jim) Coss of Louisville

Barbara (Jeff) Everhart of Fresno
Erika (John) Lewis of Akron
Ten grandchildren: Robby, Jessica, Barry, Donnie and John Coss

Sister: Edna (Johnny) Smith of Georgia
Several nieces and nephews
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Bill Mallernee officiating. Interment will be at Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-9 pm.
