Robert L. "Bob" Devney Sr.

Robert L. “Bob” Devney Sr., 88, of New Philadelphia died Monday, December 18, 2017 at his home following an extended illness.

Born May 10, 1929 in Dover, he was a son of the late Tom and Vera Benson. Bob was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom and Richard Devney.

Bob retired from Gradall after 30 years of service as a welder. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Deibel Devney whom he married on July 1, 1949; children, Mary Alice Waliga of Florida, Kathy Devney, Robert Devney Jr. both of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Jesse, Augusta, John, Jessica, Michael, Steven; great grandchildren, Taylor and Kayli.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There will be no services or calling hours. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Bob, may do so by visiting the online obituaries on the funeral home’s website.
