Robert L. “Bob” Jenei, 79, of Strasburg passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Hennis Care Center in Dover after a battle with COVID. He managed his illness with strength and grace.
Bob was born in Massillon on June 9, 1941. He was the son of the late Steve and Hannah (Snyder) Jenei. He was a lifelong resident of Strasburg where he graduated from Strasburg High School with the class of 1959. His strong work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to him to starting and operating Jenei Drilling Company for over 35 years. A life-long well driller, a welder, a geologist and an overall businessman, he often extended a hand to those in need.
Bob was a member of the Strasburg Lutheran Church and was a passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns. He lived his life on his own terms.
He leaves behind his three children; Mark (Kristy) Jenei of New Philadelphia, Stephen (Letecia) Jenei of Cincinnati, and Monica (Jay) Lavelle of Columbus; his grandchildren, Kristen Schrump, Caleb, Rebecca and Miriam Jenei, Justin and Carter Lavelle; his brother, Thomas (Jeannine) Jenei of Northbridge, Massachusetts; and his sister, Alice Kay of Zoar; along with his former wife, Karen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Calvin, and his brother in-law, Elden Diebel.
Arrangements are being handled through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg. A private burial will take place at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. To sign an online guestbook for Bob, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
