Robert L. Coffee

Robert L. "Bob" Coffee, 80, of Dover, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, after battling Alzheimer's Disease.

Born, Dec. 14, 1927, in Dover, Bob was a son of the late Flavil Jasper and Bessie Gertrude Johnson Coffee. He attended Dover High School and served in both the U.S. Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army Air Force during the Second World War. Bob retired from Armco, Inc. at Dover.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Army-Navy Club and the American Legion, all of Dover. Some of Bob's favorite past-times were fishing and traveling, and he truly loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Wyema Walton Pulley Coffee, whom he married Feb. 8, 1997; a son, Robert J. "Bob" (Gloria) Coffee of New Philadelphia; two step-daughters, Shari (Thomas) Dayton of Strasburg, and Candy (John) St. Peter of Midvale; two step-sons, Eddie D. (Rebecca) Pulley of Newcomerstown, and Gary C. Pulley of New Philadelphia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Fannin Coffee, in 1993; and a brother, Kenneth Coffee.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, Feb. 4, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 1:30 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park, where military rites will be performed by the Dover post of the V.F.W. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
