Robert Lee Lang, Sr.

Robert Lee “Bob” Lang, Sr., 82, of Dover, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 in Union Hospital.

A carpenter by trade, Bob retired from the former Gibbons & Grable Construction Company of Canton after 43 years of service.

Born November 20, 1922 near Baltic, he was the son of the late Harry Edward and Bertha Mae McPherson Lang.

During World War II he served his country honorably as a member of the Army.

He was a member of the Dover Army-Navy club, Dover VFW and Dover Eagles Clubs.

Bob is survived by his wife, the former Ruth E. Bevan, whom he wed on June 1, 1946.

Other survivors include: four children, Robert L. (Barbara Sue) Lang, Jr. of Dover, Linda Lou (Joseph) Semon of Dover, Dennis Gene (Sherri) Lang of Strasburg and Diana Kaye Lorenz of the home; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Kimberly, Rae Ann, April, Denny, Tinna, Bobby, Terry and Tiffany; five great grandchildren including Mikaylah of the home, and a sister, Twila Brindley.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

A funeral service celebrating Bob�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, May 22, at 2:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Christopher Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military rites. Following services at the cemetery, a luncheon will be hosted by the Dover Baptist Temple.

Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 p.m.
