Robert N. Blackson

Robert N. Blackson Jr., 67, of 3696 New Cumberland Rd. N.E., Mineral City, Ohio died Friday, October 28, 2005 in Union Hospital following an extended illness.

He was a retired machinist with Hercules Motors and White Engines in Canton. Following retirement, he and his wife installed carpeting.

Born February 15, 1938 in Dover, he was the son of Erma Espenschied Blackson White of New Philadelphia and the late Robert N. Blackson Sr. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Esther Blackson.

Robert was a member of the William McKinley Lodge #431 F & AM in Canton, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, and the Eastern Star. He enjoyed camping and tinkering. He was a member of the Somerdale Maranatha Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Roberta Kieffer Blackson with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on August 19; four children, Nelson Blackson and his companion Darlene Hampton of Strasburg, Robert Blackson, Forrest Blackson, and Connie (Fred) Hinerman all of Mineral City; six grandchildren, Freddie, Katie, Robert, Diane, Adam, and Darnelle; his stepfather, John F. White of New Philadelphia, two brothers, Regis (Roxanne) Blackson of Arizona and Ralph (Karolle) Blackson of California; two sisters, JoAnn (Donald) Rogers of New Philadelphia and Carol (Mac) Hamilton of Texas; a stepsister, Betty Mantolete of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Robert�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 1pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Richard Harvey officiating. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
