Robert T. Dillon

Robert T. Dillon, 97, of Louisville and formerly of Strasburg was ushered home to touch the face of God on December 2, 2014 following a brief illness.

Born August 29, 1917 in New Milton, West Virginia he was a son of the late Eugene and Delphia Cox Dillon. Bob was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Davis Dillon who went home to glory in 1992; son, Edsel; daughter, Robin; three granddaughters, one great granddaughter, two sons in law, daughter in law, a brother and two sisters.

Bob proudly served his country during WW II with the US Army. He spent most of his life as a drag line operator and a lover of heavy equipment. He enjoyed gospel music, square dancing and watching wrestling with his great grandchildren. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Most importantly, he was a family man who will be sadly missed by his children, David "Bill" (Susan) Dillon of Terre Haute, Indiana, Don Dillon of Florida and Wanda Denzer of Louisville; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Dr. Larry Hinkle and Pastor Gene Cooper officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 pm.
