Robert W. Burns, 74, of Dover died Sunday, April 17, 2005 at his home following a brief illness.
He retired in 1983 as an agent for Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms after more than 20 years of service.
Born October 3, 1930 in Uhrichsville, Ohio he was a son of the late Neal and Elizabeth Huffman Burns.
He was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. In his spare time Robert enjoyed playing the stock market and riding his bike.
Robert is survived by his wife Delores Keaton Bowling Burns with whom he would have celebrated 18 years of marriage on May 16.
He is also survived by five sons, Danny (Susan) Bowling of Canton, David (Patsy) Bowling of Bowling Green, KY, Pastor Steven Ray (Diana) Bowling of Sherrodsville, Gary Bowling of New Philadelphia and Keith Bowling of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three daughters, Geraldine (Robert) Barrick of Uhrichsville, Linda (Jim) Potts of Bowling Green, KY and Gretta (Robert) Fabian of Wintersville.
Twenty six grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
In addition to his parents Robert was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Humrighouse.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 1:00 pm in the Foursquare Gospel Church at Dover with Pastor David Wing officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Wednesday from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
