Robert W. 'Bob' Potschner, 87, of Dover, died Friday, June 25, 2004, in Hennis
Care & Assisted Living Centre, Dover.
Born March 23, 1917, in Bolivar, he was the son of the late Harry C. and
Phoebe Lieser Potschner. His family later moved to Dover where Bob graduated
high school. He married the former Wilma 'Willie' Schwarm on May 9, 1937, in
the parlor of his parents' Lincoln Avenue home. The couple celebrated sixty-
seven wonderful years together this May. Bob retired in 1982 as the parts
manager of Edwards Truck Sales & Service, Strasburg. Additionally, he was a
dedicated, and much-loved, employee of Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes for over
fifty years.
Bob was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and the Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks 975, both of Dover. He enjoyed camping with his wife
and family, and was a member of the Tusco Traveliers and the Good Sam
Roadrunners. Bob also liked to play golf and to go bowling, and he was good
at both. He had a dry wit and usually a story to tell.
