Robert "Bob" Wasem, Jr., 90, of Dover died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his home.
Bob retired first from Kinser Coal Co. in Winfield and then was employed at Union Country Club as a Greens Keeper for over 20 years.
Born May 14, 1921 in Winfield he was a son of the late Robert Sr. and Erma Maurer Wasem. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton and Gilbert Wasem and sisters, Phyllis Floridi and Martha Wasem.
Bob was a member of the Dover Baptist Temple and proudly served his country during WW II with the US Navy. Bob was a great family man who also loved all sports and never tired of following his grandchildren to whatever activity or sport they were in, regardless of the distance or weather.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Pfeiffer Wasem whom he married on August 1, 1953; son, Robert (Stephanie) Wasem III and daughter, Barbara Wasem both of Dover; grandchildren, Robert Wasem, IV of Dover, Rachael Wasem of Akron and Jacob Wasem of Dover.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10 am in the Dover Baptist Temple with Rev. Christopher Rhodes officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Friday from 4-7 pm.
