Roger Lee McRobie, 74, of Dover passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in Dover following an extended period of declining health.
Born on July 2, 1947, in Vindex, Maryland, he was the son of the late Albert and Glendene (Michaels) McRobie. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Avon, and brother, Wayne McRobie.
Roger attended Uhrichsville High School. He was drafted into the United States Army, where he honorably served our country from 1966 until 1968. He was a member of the Civil War Confederate Reenactment group for many years. He retired from Alsco Anaconda.
Roger enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed history and talking politics.
He leaves behind his children; Tammy (Erin) Peterman of Dover, Kimberly Ferrell of Dover, Jason McRobie of New Philadelphia, Carrie (Adam) Nedele of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Diane McRobie, Allison Ferrell, Katlyn Ferrell, James Ferrell III, Joseph Ferrell, Lucas Nedele, Jackson Nedele, and Jonathan Nedele; great-grandchildren, Nadia, Kyler, and Hailey; along with two brothers, Terry (Sally) McRobie and Gary (Cathy) McRobie.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 1pm with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Friends can call on Thursday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens with the New Philadelphia VFW conducting military honors.
