Ronald B. Jaberg Sr.

Ronald B. Jaberg Sr., 70, of Dover, Ohio died unexpectedly Sunday, September 18, 2011 in Union Hospital at Dover.

Born January 2, 1941 in Dover, he was the son of the late William "Ben" and Faye I. (Clutz) Jaberg.

Ron retired in 2003 from the Parts Department at Allstate Truck Sales in New Philadelphia. He also owned and operated Route 39 Auto Salvage in New Philadelphia.

An avid car enthusiast, he was owner of car #21 which raced regularly at Midvale Speedway. For several years, he also owned an ARCA series car that raced at Daytona, Talladega, Michigan, Nashville and other tracks around the country.

He was a 1960 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He will be remembered for enjoying children and was a lover of animals of all varieties.

Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (Anderson) Jaberg whom he married on February 13, 1966. He is also survived by two sons, Ronald (Christy) Jaberg Jr. and James Jaberg and companion Tonya Kerns all of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren Cody, Gage, Lauryn, and Tenley Jaberg and his brother, Don (Barbara) Jaberg of Dover as well as his canine companion, Sadie.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Jeannie Jaberg who died June 25, 1979.

Pastor Brian Flood will celebrate Ron's life on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8pm.
