Ronald C. Lawson, 55, of Dundee, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, in his home.
Born March 10, 1951 at Calhoun County, WV, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Marie Nicholas Lawson.
For 19 years, Ron loaded trucks for Superior Meats in Massillon. Following his work there, his interest in trucking led his ten years of driving as an independent trucker, hauling for a wide variety of companies over that time.
Ron was, first and foremost, a family man. He loved being married, was proud of his children, and cherished the role of “grandpa.” He was also a man of diverse interests. Many years ago he had enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. That love of the outdoors had most recently been reflected in his caring for the family(TM)s two miniature ponies. Over the past 10 years, Ron took an interest in coin collecting and was a member of the Tuscarawas County Coin Club.
On March 31, 1973, he married the love of his life, the former Sharon Bonner, who survives.
Other surviving family member include: two daughters, Morgan Lawson of Dundee, and MacKinzye Karye Lawson and her companion Christopher Carl Thompson also of Dundee; two grandchildren, Lizabeth Renee Thompson and Ryan Reed Thompson; six siblings, Geraldine King of Boaz, WV, Mildred (Jesse) Daniels of Dundee, Rev. Robert (Brenda) Lawson of Brewster, Ernest (Betty) Lawson of Navarre, Joyce Triplett of Navarre, and Eleanor Lawson of Navarre.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Leroy Lawson, and a sister, Virginia Waggoner, preceded Ron in death.
A funeral ceremony celebrating Ron(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, January 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Strasburg. Interment will be in the Dundee Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
