Ronald L. May, 85, of Dover passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 8, 2021.
He was born on June 19, 1936 in Akron and was a son of the late Melvin May and Florence Crum May Whitcraft. Ron was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen May on December 29, 2017; brother, Ryan May; sister, Linda Gibson and grandson, Aaron May.
He enjoyed a six decade history as a pastor and college classroom teacher. For nine of those years he and his wife, Helen, were privileged to have served as pastor of the Dover Foursquare Church. Ron and Helen’s greatest satisfaction and personal fulfillment was found in their three children, Deborah (Steven) Sparks, Robert (Alicia) May, Evelyn (Brian) Houston; they also dearly loved and cherished their grandchildren, great grandchildren and took great delight in their character and accomplishments. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters. Ron was a graduate of Pacific Life Bible College and Ashland Theological Seminary.
Ron respectfully requests that there be no public services. Those wishing to celebrate his memory are encouraged to take time to read and contemplate his favorite Bible passage: Romans 5:1-5 and his favorite songs: The Solid Rock, Like a River Glorious, No Other Plea, The Church’s One Foundation.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that you give twenty dollars to someone you feel is needy, or consider a gift, in honor of Helen May, to Community Hospice.
