Ronald R. Vonkaenel

Ronald R. VonKaenel, 74, of Dover died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the Community Hospice House.

Born September 23, 1941 in Strasburg he was a son of the late Paul "Pappy" and Margaret Bowen VonKaenel. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia VonKaenel on August 23, 1978 and his second wife, Karen VonKaenel on April 17, 2008; brothers, Bob, Fritz, Bill and Jerry VonKaenel and sister, Pat LaMasters.

He was a 1961 graduate of Strasburg High School and was the owner of the former Ohio Carrier Corp. in Columbia. His career in the family trucking business started when he was a teenager driving truck and spanned decades until his retirement in 2012. Ron's first love was driving his truck, but he was also a huge sports fan. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially NASCAR and loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling.

Ron is survived by his children, Ron VonKaenel of Louisville, Mike VonKaenel of Dover, Mike (Melissa) Juhasz of Florida, Jill (John) Spano of Hudson, Jeff (JoAnn) Juhasz of New York, Tracy (Stan) Matras of Aurora; sister, Jean Gochenajer of Dalton and six grandchildren.

A service celebrating Ron's life will be held on Friday, June 10 at 6:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Jason Rissler officiating. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
