Ronnie D. Rouse, 60, of Strasburg died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness.
He retired in 1996 from Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad after 32 years of service.
Born May 29, 1943 in Wilmot he was a son of the late Donald F. and Ethel Pritchett Rouse Hilger. He was also preceded in death by his father and mother in law, Carl “Popeye” (Vivian) Snyder; infant brother, Donald Rouse; sister, Ruth Gates; special niece and nephew, Samantha White and Troy Harper; Leroy and Mary Speicher, with whom he had lived with for nine years and a brother, Robert Speicher.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years, Sugarcreek Sportsman�(TM)s Club and the Mighty Euchre Club. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed having breakfast with the “Hardy Boy�(TM)s”.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Carol Snyder Rouse with whom he would have celebrated 36 years of marriage on December 2, 2003.
He is also survived by two daughters: Renae (Travis) Kleski of Strasburg

Sister in law: Laura Ann Speicher of New Philadelphia
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 11:00 am in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Pastor Fred Grosse officiating. Interment will be at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
