Rose A. Prosperi, age 70, of Dover, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, where she was taken after becoming ill at home.
Born Sept. 21, 1942, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Eileen Smail Bailey. Rose attended school in New Philadelphia and was a loving homemaker. She especially enjoyed cooking and family gatherings Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Rose also had a deep affection for animals, owning and caring for many over the course of her life. Some of her favorite pastimes were collecting angels and going fishing with her family.
Rose was a member of St. Paul's Community Church in Mineral City, as well as the Army-Navy Garrison in Bolivar.
Survivors include her husband, Rodney Prosperi, whom she married on Oct. 10, 2010; two daughters, Deb (James) Sickels and Pat (Jim) Zurfley, both of Mineral City; two sons, David (Sandy) Smith of New Philadelphia, and Mark (Abby) Smith of Valdosta, GA; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by a son, Chris Smith; a grandson, David Smith; and a brother, William Bailey.
