Rose M. “Peg” Ryan, 87, of Marietta, and a former resident of Cleveland and Dover, died Sunday, January 7, 2007 in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born July 16, 1919 at Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late James F. & Bridget Agnes Welsh Doyle.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and it�(TM)s LCBA, Christian Mothers and the 55+ Senior Citizens group. She was also a member of the 3rd Order Franciscans.
Peg was a “people” person who valued her friends and treasured her family. For decades she was a part of the same card club, and she loved traveling. Perhaps her favorite times were spent spoiling her grandchildren.
At the center of her family life was her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Harry W. Ryan, who survives.
Other surviving family members include: seven sons, Thomas (Joyce) Ryan and Dennis (Marceda) Ryan both of Springfield, Daniel (Margaret) Ryan of N. Olmstead, Timothy (Barbara) Ryan of Southlake, TX, James (Jean) Ryan of Burlington, WI, Sean (Yan) Ryan of Naples, FL, and Christopher (Cynthia) Ryan of New Hope, PA; a daughter, Mary (Edward) Tappel of Marietta; 28 grandchildren, Sean, Mark, and Michael Ryan, Dawn Wobbe, Denise and Keith Ryan, Shannon Sikorski, Daniel and Kevin Ryan, Bridget McGilvry, Thomas, Patrick, Mary Ellen, Timothy, Mark, and Carrie Ryan, Brion, Holly and Timothy Ryan, Blair and Patrick Ryan, Jennifer Funston, Todd and Melissa Ryan, Colleen, Ryan, Molly, and Emma Tappel; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Kelley of Rocky River.
In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by: two sisters; Betty Kubovchik and Bernice Straub of Fairview; a brother, Eugene Doyle; and a granddaughter, Angel.
A funeral mass that celebrates Peg�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, January 10, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. There are no public calling hours.
