Rosemarie Lorenz Ionno, age 64, of New Philadelphia, and a former Dover resident, passed away Tuesday, February 27, in Community Hospice’s Truman House, New Philadelphia, following a long battle with C.O.P.D.
Born October 16, 1953, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Albert Sr. and Anna Gualtieri Lorenz. Rosemarie attended Dover High School and enjoyed dancing in her youth. She was a loving homemaker whose life revolved around her family. She especially liked holiday dinners with loved ones and singing. Rosemarie was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover.
Survivors include her daughters, Anna (Russell Porter) Ionno of Dover, and Marlena Haney of Midvale; her grandsons, Cody (Harlee Hamilton) and Corey (Niomi Potts) Haney; her sisters, Betty Malone of Bolivar and Pat (Bob Vickers) Lorenz of Dover; and her several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Lorenz Jr., and her former husband, Antonio Ionno.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, March 4, 3 – 5 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held Sunday at 4:45 p.m. in the funeral home. Fr. Jimmy Hatfield will officiate a funeral service Monday, March 5, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery, Dover. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
