Ross “Skip” Rondinella, 75, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, December 8, 2006 in Union Hospital following a brief illness.
Skip retired in 1996 from Union Camp at Dover following thirty years of service.
Born August 25, 1931 in Dover, he was the son of the late Basilio and Benigna Pace Rondinella.
He was a member of St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church in Dover and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Dover VFW and the infamous 7th St. Tigers. He was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph�(TM)s High School in Dover. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and enjoyed gardening and playing bocce.
Skip is survived by his wife, Joanne (Lentz) Rondinella with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage February 16; He is also survived by two daughters, Beth (Richard) Brindley of Ashland and Kay (Mike) DeMonte of Dover; one son, Steve (Beth) Rondinella of Dover; three brothers, Vincent “Flash” (Evelyn) Rondinella, Ted “Popeye” (Mary) Rondinella and Anthony “Chic” (Irene) Cercone all of Dover and two sisters, Viola (Jacob) Vierheller of Dover and Clara (Reynolds) Casimir of Dennison; ten grandchildren: Mitch Gehrisch, Adam, Logan, and Ellie Rondinella, Jacob and Amanda Brindley, and Angela, Paul, Genaro, and Maria DeMonte along with many nieces and nephews.
Skip was preceded in death by two brothers, Pammy and Lou Cercone and two sisters, Marguerite Conidi and Erma Monticelli.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 10am in the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Bill Arnold officiating. All attending the mass should go directly to the church. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday from 5-8pm. Christian Wake services will be Monday at 7:45pm.
