Roy D. Harrold, 72, of Dover died Friday, August 31, 2001 at his home following a brief illness.
He retired as the owner and operator of Roy D. Harrold Construction Co. and had farmed for over 50 years having raised hogs and beef.
Born June 9, 1929 in Beach City he was a son of the late Edson and Marjorie Cash Harrold.
He was a member of Union Hill United Methodist Church in Sugarcreek, Tuscarawas County Pork Producers, Tuscarawas County Beef Association and the Dover VFW. He enjoyed his family, farming and his two dogs Bowser and Libby. He was also a Korean War Veteran having served in the Army.
Roy is survived by his wife Marilyn Lahmers Harrold with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage on January 16, 2001.
He is also survived by a son: Roy E. and Holly Harrold of Dover
Two daughters: Bonnie and Robert Slagle of New Philadelphia
Becky and Brian Graham of New Philadelphia
Brother: Walter and Alice Harrold of Dalton
Sister: Pauline and Delon ''Pork'' Miller of Dover
Four grandchildren: Matthew, Heather and Scott Graham

Great granddaughter: Hannah Slagle
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Harry Milligan and Rev. Richard Rothrock officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Wilmot where the Dover VFW will conduct Military Graveside Services. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
