Roy W. Kuntz, 92, of Dover, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, in Union Hospital.
Born February 2, 1912, in Stanleyville, Washington County, he was a son of the late Charles and Clara Berg Kuntz. Roy retired as a foreman from the Eberhart Coal Company, North Industry, following forty-seven years of service.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover, and the Knights of Columbus. Roy was a gardener and planted a vegetable garden with tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers every year for the past seventy years. He also enjoyed camping and fishing at Big Pine Lodge, Cobalt, Ontario, Canada.
Survivors include two sons, Murphy Kuntz of Strasburg, and Michael (Lynne) Kuntz of Lakewood, WA; two grandchildren, Amy and Aaron Kuntz; a brother, Herman Kuntz of Massillon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Eberhart Kuntz, on January 12, 1998; a sister, Ida Kuntz, and a brother, Edward Kuntz.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, August 4, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, with Fr. William L. Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a reception in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, on Tuesday, August 3, 6-8 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held Tuesday at 7:45 p.m., in the funeral home.
