Ruby G. Fisher, 88, of Dover died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Union Hospital.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and was a licensed beautician. Ruby was a devoted wife and mother whose daily practice was to always worry about the comfort of others before herself, especially making sure they had enough good food to eat.
Born September 10, 1917 in Reese, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Cable Dugger and married her husband, the late Ronald Fisher, in 1939.
Ruby is survived by a dauhter, Sandy (Mark) Wertman of Dover; sisters, Mary Robinson of Jacksonville, Florida and Sammie (Robert) Lott of King City, Oregon; brother, Carl (Linda) Dugger of Calhoun, Kentucky; sister in law, Jodie Dugger of Burnsville, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews and many friends, including Jo McCreery and Jackie Schupp who were always there for her.
In addition to her parents and her husband, who died on July 23, 2001, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Farthing, Wilma Olsen, Rose Cornett and Mabel Dugger; two brothers, Oran and Herman Dugger.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 pm.
