Jesus came for Ruby Garman in her home at 603 Evergreen Drive, Dover, and she went to be with Him at 4:30 pm on Friday, September 21, 2001.
She was born in Dover on April 9, 1925, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Lena Ellen (Zurcher) Haswell and was a 1943 graduate of Dover High School.
She was a member of the Dover Foursquare Gospel Church. Ruby taught children and adult Sunday School classes for many years. She was also active in the Women�(TM)s Ministries in the Foursquare Church conducting Bible studies, and leader of the Foursquare Women�(TM)s Ministry. In addition, she was on the FWI board for the Eastern District and assisted in planning and holding district meetings throughout the eastern United States.
Ruby was always ready to present programs or speak to Women�(TM)s Church groups and visited many churches in Tuscarawas County. She was a member of and on the board of the Dover- New Philadelphia Aglow Women�(TM)s Fellowship and held Aglow Bible studies in her home. She was also involved in Teen Challenge International for Women Board of Columbus for many years and delivered mobile meals for over 25 years.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth, whom she married October 11, 1959; one daughter, Noreen Hoert and her husband Dennis of Middleburg Heights, OH; and fours sons, John J. Kibler of New Philadelphia, Daniel Franklin Garman and his wife, Cher of Punta Gorda, Fla., Douglas Richard Garman, and Gregory Lee Garman and his wife, Karie of Dover.
She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Fox of Dover along with eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Lewis Garman.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001 at 11:00 am in the Foursquare Gospel Church in Dover with Pastor David W. Wing officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the church. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to services.
