Russell James “Jim” Grimm, 76, of Dover, passed away at Union Hospital Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, following complications of a stroke.
Born on January 26, 1944, in Dover, he was the youngest child of the late Vernon and Mary “Marie” (Hartman) Grimm. He was a 1962 graduate of Dover High School. He honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965-1967.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn “Kay” (Reichman) Grimm, whom he married on July 21, 1967. Together they had two amazing sons; Ronald Jay Grimm (Marcy), Charles James (Michelle) Grimm of Dover; his five beloved grandchildren, Ross Grimm, Taylor Grimm, Rachel (Brant) Raber, and Sydney (Evan) Daganhardt, and Parker Grimm; along with his beloved dog, Shilo.
He worked for over 40 years at the Ashland Marathon Refinery. He was an amazing husband, father, papa, son and brother. Those who knew him knew all about him.
Cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A memorial celebration will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Friends can gather from 11:30-12:00 before the service. The New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors at the funeral home following the service.
