Russell R. Hartline, Sr., 88, of Beach City, Ohio died Thursday, March 24, 2005 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following an extended illness.
He was a lifelong farmer having raised dairy and beef cattle. He was also an employee of the former Garver Bros. Store in Strasburg.
Born September 3, 1916 in Beach City, he was the son of the late Chatlain R. and Hazel Swank Hartline.
He attended Helms and Beach City Schools. He received the Conservation Award in 1973 from the Stark Conservation District. He was a longtime member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and Florida.
Russell is survived by his wife, Irene Hope Roush Hartline with whom he would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on April 9.
He is also survived by two sons, Russell Jr. (Connie) Hartline of Beach City and Dwight (Diane) Hartline of Massillon; two daughters, Carol (Gary) Sliffe of Beach City and Nancy (Donald) Palmer of Massillon; three sisters, Florence Deibel Gribble of Bolivar, Freida Taylor of Leesburg, Florida and Verna Lewis of Dover; two brothers, Clifford (Jean) Hartline of Sugarcreek, Edward Paul (Irene) Hartline of Bolivar along with nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26. 2005 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg with Dr. Joel Adkins officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard in Dover. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (today) from 4-8 pm.
