Ruth Ann Petricola Hartz, 82, formerly of W. 12th St., Dover, Ohio died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Oak Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baltic following an extended illness.
Ruth Ann was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and also managed the former Bayer Dress Shop in downtown Dover.
Born September 9, 1926 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Pauline (Shaw) Williams.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the local Mail Carriers Union. She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines now Valley Voices Barbershop Chorus. During her life, she enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Ruth Ann is survived by her son, Gary A. Petricola of Dover and her grandson, Zach Petricola of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by her former 2nd husband, Bob Hartz of Dover; a brother in law, Richard Wolfe of Baltic and three nieces and nephews including Barb White of New Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Alison "Lin" Petricola; a brother, Kenneth Williams, a sister, June Wolfe, her former first husband, Lewis A. Petricola and two infant brothers.
A service celebrating Ruth Ann's life will be held Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Bruce McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8pm.
