Ruth Ann Tschantz

Ruth Ann Tschantz, 89, of Dover passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.

Born on November 6, 1926 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Cora V. (Wendling) Bair. On April 6, 1947 she married the love of her life, Sam W. Tschantz, who preceded her in death on November 27, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her son; Tommy Tschantz; daughter in law, Debra Tschantz; two brothers, James R. Bair and Glenn Bair; two sisters in law, Jeanne Bair and June Bair.

Ruth was a 1944 graduate of Dover High School. She was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. She drove the bus for Starlight School for over 10 years. She was an avid card player, enjoying yass with many friends through the years. She also never met a dog she didn't love.

She will sadly be missed by her children; Samara Tschantz (Larry Miller) of Arizona, and Rudy Tschantz of Dover; brother, Raymond "Earl" Bair of Lake Placid, Florida and sister Joyce (Robert) Brewer, of Dover, along with nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Thomas Dunkle officiating. Burial will follow next to Sam at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2-4pm.
