Ruth E. “Betty” Lang, 76, of Dover, died Friday, March 3, 2006, in her home.
Born May 24, 1929 at Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Atlee Levinger and Ruth Elizabeth Allison Bevan.
Betty worked for 15 years as a waitress at Cindy�(TM)s Restaurant in Strasburg.
She had been active with the Dover Army-Navy club auxiliary. Betty relished her free time at home whether reading or tending to her rose bushes, but perhaps her favorite activity was when she was able to play a big game of Go Fish with great granddaughter Mikaylah.
On June 1, 1946 she married the love of her life, Robert Lee Lang, Sr., with whom she enjoyed 57 years of marriage before his death on May 18, 2004.
Survivors include: four children, Robert L. (Susie) Lang, Jr., of Dover, Linda L. (Joseph) Semon, of Dover, Denny G. Lang of Strasburg, and Diana Kaye Lorenz of the home; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Kimberly, Rae Ann, April, Denny, Tinna, Bobby, Terry & Tiffany; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sherri, and two brothers.
Rev. Christopher Rhodes will officiate a ceremony that celebrates Betty�(TM)s life on Tuesday, March 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m.
